NEW Henchman Fully Adjustable PRO Tripod Ladder - 8' / 2.4m Ladder

Features of the Henchman PRO ladder - our strongest and most versatile tripod ladder

Our renowned Professional Ladder, but better. With this PRO model, you get all of the benefits of our Fully Adjustable Tripod Ladder but with even more adjustability and stability. Our heavy-duty PRO ladder is now even more robust, making it the reliable bit of kit needed to keep you safe and secure.

There’s even a second platform for when you need to work a little lower down, so you can carry out a variety of tasks using only your Henchman PRO Ladder. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or looking to take on some larger jobs at home, you can rely on Henchman to keep you safe.

Maximum adjustability with our professional ladder

Our PRO ladder makes it easier than ever to complete a number of tasks in one position. Each leg is independently adjustable to accommodate sloping, uneven terrain and steps, keeping you safe when working at height and minimising risk of injury. 20% more adjustability than our Fully Adjustable Tripod, at least 20% more than competitor ladders and up to double the adjustability on our best-selling 8ft model, you can safely tackle substantial slopes by adjusting the angle of your ladder to provide a strong, sturdy base for you to work from.

For that extra layer of security, the Henchman PRO Adjustable Ladder is secured with our hedge-proof locking pin. Designed to protect against branches or shrubbery interfering with the locking mechanism, simply twist and pull for fast lock-in, giving you strong and sturdy legs to stand on.

Dual platform to give platform height variability

All of our tripod ladders feature a built in platform, but our redesigned PRO ladder takes this another step further. The PRO model of our Henchman Professional Tripod Ladder has an extra platform rung, so you’re still safe and sound when you want to work a bit lower.

Whether you need to handle a variety of height jobs, or you just want to rest your chest against the guard rail to feel more stable, the Henchman PRO telescopic tripod ladder keeps you safe no matter your level.

Providing extra stability with wider feet

The feet on regular ladders are thin and curved, which makes them prone to sinking into soft ground and can cause them to topple. You don’t need to worry about this when using your Henchman PRO adjustable ladder. Already designed for a wobble-free experience, our feet are planted firmly in the ground.

The feet of our tripod ladders are purposefully designed for soft terrain. They are extra wide with a large surface area which spreads the load and prevents sinking, and their clawed design also minimises any slippage.

If you’re using your ladder indoors or on hard surfaces, simply fit the rubber overshoes that are supplied free of charge with every Henchman tripod ladder.

A PRO tripod ladder designed for heavy use

Our tripod ladders are already strong and lightweight! But our Henchman PRO adjustable ladder is engineered with a thicker gauge of aluminium in key contact areas to increase durability, wear and tear resistance and frame rigidity.

The new rear leg catch holds the back leg securely in place, preventing it from swinging around whilst you’re carrying or transporting your ladder.

If you’re a business who uses your ladder frequently and transporting it from place to place, or a domestic customer who wants the strongest option available, this is the right professional tripod ladder for you.

BS EN131 PRO ladder for working on uneven ground

The UK and EU have strict standards called EN131, which cover a range of requirements set by industry experts designed to help you choose a ladder that is proven to be safe. Our EN131 professional ladder - and our wider tripod range - are the only tripod ladders on the market with this qualification.

The ladder EN131 standard requires annual testing by an independent testing organisation. Testing focuses on the ladder’s stability, grip, dimensions, safety labelling and the safe working load of 150kg. Never settle for anything less.

Lookout for misleading wording about safety standards, such as “conforms to”, “tested to”, or “built to” EN131 when shopping for ladders online. These are terms that are used freely in the industry and their application can mean as little as a ladder having the right dimensional requirements (such as distance between rungs), but no safety testing under load. If in doubt, always ask to see a copy of the EN131 certificate, as these should be publically available. To learn more, read our article on ladder standards here.

Our EN131 Professional Ladder - what does it mean?

Our EN131 platform ladder keeps you safe when working at all height levels - but what does the BS EN131 kitemark mean?

What’s involved in kitemark certification?

We have chosen to Kitemark our professional ladders as the Kitemark certification goes above and beyond product testing. It looks at all aspects of the supply chain too, so rest assured that the ladders you receive are properly designed for the job you're performing. When you purchase from Henchman, you’re purchasing ladders that are:

  • Safety tested to the highest standards
  • Produced by approved and audited manufacturers
  • Treated with thorough quality control measures throughout the whole supply chain

BSI’s EN131 Kitemark Certification tests all of the below:

EN131

o   Part 1 - terms, types, functional sizes – this section inspects the key dimensional requirements of the ladder, such as base width and rung spacing, to ensure that they are both in accordance with the safety requirements and consistent across all production batches.

o   Part 2 - requirements, testing, marking – this section inspects and tests the strength and stability of the ladder, ensuring that it’s suitable for the intended use.

o   Part 3 - marking and user instructions – this section assesses the quality and completeness of the ladders labelling, markings and user instructions, to ensure that the user can easily understand how to safely operate their ladder.

Manufacturer audit

o    The manufacturer(s) of the ladders are audited according to relevant ISO standards, to assess production methods and processes, quality control processes, and ensure a safe working environment for their employees.

Henchman audit

o   This is the final step in the Kitemark process. It is designed to ensure adequate quality control procedures while also protecting you, the customer, by ensuring we have a reliable management structure and business continuity plans.

As you can see, the Kitemark certification process is very thorough and provides full reassurance in the quality of our business and products. If you would like any more information, or to discuss how these safety standards fit within your business, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can also find out more about our EN 131 multi-purpose ladders here.

The Henchman Professional Tripod Ladder can be used for:

  • Tree surgery and maintenance
  • Trimming hedges and shrubs
  • Topiary and maintaining climbing plants

Selecting the right size Henchman PRO Adjustable Ladder

Before ordering your ladder, be sure to measure the size of the job, and how much space you have, to ensure you order the correct size. Note that, when we refer to the size of the ladder, we are referring to the total length when fully retracted, from top to bottom - as an example, 10ft is the full height of the 10ft ladder. They do not collapse down in height.

We always recommend that you work between shoulder and waist height. On the Fully Adjustable  Professional Tripod, the platform is 3ft/0.9cm from the top of the ladder, so your waist is in line with the top.

As an example, if the ladder is 6ft/1.8m, then your waist will be 6ft / 1.8m from the ground. Generally, your shoulders are approximately 2ft/60cm higher than your waist. This means that you’ll have a working height range of 6-8ft / 1.8-2.4m, shoulder to waist level.

So, if you need to reach 6-8ft / 1.8-2.4m, then a 6ft / 1.8m ladder is just what you need.

Our Professional Ladder sizes range from 6ft to 16ft.
